Introduction:

Hilal.nz will InshaAllah provide information on Crescent sightings for New Zealand. It is intended that sighting information including sighting charts and results will be available here every month.

It is our intention that this will help bring awareness to the importance of crescent sighting (moon sighting) to establish our Lunar Islamic months, and through it assist us in not only having confidence in Ramadan and Eidayn (the two Eid’s), but also to  know the Islamic dates all year round which is important for those who wish to observe other Sunnah acts such as fasting on the 13th, 14th, and 15th of each month.

We Ask Allah Subhana wa Ta’ala to bring benefit through this initiative. May He allow it to fulfill the Fard e Kifaya of our local and wider communities of New Zealand and the Pacific Islands. Lastly, we encourage you to join this important effort andwelcome your feedback.
